1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SportsCardTrading.com (the “Site”) and the AI Card Grade Estimator service (the “Service”), operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
SportsCardTrading.com provides an AI-powered sports card grade estimation tool. The Service analyses photographs of sports cards and returns estimated grades based on PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) and BGS (Beckett Grading Services) grading scales.
Important limitations — please read carefully
- All grade estimates are AI-generated estimates only. They are not official grades, appraisals, or valuations.
- The Service does not employ professional card graders and has no affiliation with PSA, Beckett, SGC, or any other grading company.
- Actual grades awarded by professional grading companies may differ significantly from our estimates.
- You should not make buying, selling, or submission decisions based solely on our estimates without conducting your own research.
- Grade estimate accuracy depends heavily on the quality of photographs submitted.
3. Accounts
To use the grading features of the Service, you must create a free account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and make purchases.
4. Credits and Payments
Free credit
Each new registered account receives one (1) free grading credit upon registration. This credit is non-transferable and expires if your account is deleted.
Purchasing credits
Additional credits can be purchased in packs:
- Single grade: £2 / $2 (1 credit)
- 5-Pack: £8 / $8 (5 credits)
- 10-Pack: £15 / $15 (10 credits)
Prices are displayed at checkout and may change. Credits are non-refundable once used. Unused credits do not expire.
Payment processing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. By making a purchase you also agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service.
Refunds
Credits that have been used to generate a grade estimate are non-refundable. If you experience a technical failure where a credit is deducted but no grade estimate is returned, please contact us within 7 days and we will restore the credit. Unused credit packs may be refunded within 14 days of purchase — contact us at [email protected]
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Upload images that do not depict sports cards (e.g. personal photographs, identity documents)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
- Attempt to circumvent the credit system
- Upload content that is offensive, illegal, or infringes third-party rights
- Share your account credentials with others
- Attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to our systems
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, design, logos, tools, and software — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by UK and international intellectual property law.
You retain ownership of any card images you upload. By uploading images, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process those images for the purpose of generating a grade estimate. We do not claim ownership of your card images and do not retain them after processing.
Grade estimates and analysis generated by the Service are provided for your personal use only. You may not resell or redistribute them as a commercial grading service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- Grade estimates will be accurate or match results from professional grading companies
- The Service is fit for any particular commercial purpose
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we shall not be liable for:
- Any loss or damage arising from reliance on grade estimates produced by the Service
- Financial losses resulting from buying, selling, or submitting cards based on our estimates
- Any indirect, consequential, or special losses
- Loss of data, loss of profit, or loss of business opportunity
Our total liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party services including Anthropic (AI processing) and Stripe (payments). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third parties. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Unused credits are non-refundable upon account deletion unless you request a refund within 14 days of your last purchase.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer based in another part of the UK (Scotland or Northern Ireland), you may also have rights under the laws of those jurisdictions.
